Writing code is a strange sport. It’s a huge victory that my little web app sends this simple email. But am I done? Not at all. What if the sender attaches a file? What if they don’t include their name? What if the email address they submit is wrong? What if they try to use HTML in the comment field? Getting started takes a short time. Getting it right takes a lot longer. Making it fun to use takes even longer. And I’m simply sending an email. A nicely formatted, potentially filled with images or video, playfully worded email. I’ve now been at this (on and off) for two weeks. It’s fun and challenging, but not easy or fast. And as I’ve discovered, nearly impossible to explain the complexities in a weekly check-in meeting with the manager. Code is a strange sport. (Taken with instagram)
