He’s going to try to use big words to confuse me because he knows I don’t get all of that technology stuff.

A co-worker who happens to be in a position above me that is responsible for some significant technology decisions. Fortunately, this co-worker asks my opinion. The person above consults with no one and knows even less.

This is a great day in my life. The Bill Paxton pinball machine has been realized. Even if it was determined that this machine was the brain of Skynet, I would still want it to live…just for the “Game Over.”

We Bought A Toxic Asset; You Can Watch It Die

Gym clothes in the 80's

Me:
I remember when my dad used to go to 24 Hour Fitness in the 80's. It must have sucked to look at yourself in the mirror wearing baggy, gray cotton sweatpants with elastic at the ankles.
Kalin:
Try being a woman and wearing a leotard with thong on the _outside_.
Me:
Point taken.

20 things Apple haters already hate about the Apple Tablet

Why wait for an actual announcement to start bemoaning missing features? We’ve been through this with the iPod, iPhone and most iterations of Apple’s computers: the loud jeers and bulleted blog posts from those who are least likely to purchase an Apple product, declaring it unfit for purchase because the elitists at Apple left off feature X. So here is an abridged list of reasons to already hate the unreleased, as-yet unseen Apple Tablet:

  • No AM/FM tuner
  • No removable battery
  • No wrist strap
  • No phone jack for dial-up connectivity
  • No firewire 400
  • No stylus
  • No screen-protecting flip cover
  • Charging/syncing dock sold separately
  • No ZFS
  • No AM/FM tuner
  • No hardware keyboard
  • I can’t sync my contacts to it from my Nokia[blah blah, version, model]
  • Built-in audio jack doesn’t support 5.1 surround sound
  • No brushed metal interface
  • It’s too expensive
  • It only comes in black
  • It only comes in white
  • No AM/FM tuner
  • The [insert hardware material here] is prone to scratching
  • It doesn’t support [insert flavor of Linux] Linux!

This thing is going to be a total flop.

We do feel like the worst ending that we could possibly provide everyone who has invested this amount of time and energy into watching the show is the safe ending – you know, the ending that is basically sort of like, ‘What’s going to be the most appealing to the most number of people?’
